2. Visiting Our Website
When you visit our website, technical data required to operate the site is transmitted to the web server. This includes, in particular, your IP address, the date and time of your visit, the page accessed, and information about your browser and device. We need this data to deliver the website and ensure its secure operation. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legitimate interest is the reliable and secure operation of the website.
Our hosting provider is IONOS. It processes the data required for hosting on our behalf. Server logs are retained for eight weeks unless a security incident requires them to be kept for longer.
3. Contact Form and Other Enquiries
If you write to us using the contact form, we process your name, email address and message. You may also voluntarily provide a telephone number, the property you are interested in, your travel dates and the number of guests. If you contact us by email or telephone, we process the information you provide in doing so.
We use this data to respond to your enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare a booking. For enquiries about a stay, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to them under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We need the information marked as mandatory in order to reply to you; all other information is optional.
We delete enquiries once they have been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations or legitimate reasons require us to keep them for longer.
4. Smoobu Booking Calendars and Bookings
We provide booking calendars for all our properties through Smoobu GmbH, Pappelallee 78/79, 10437 Berlin, Germany. The calendars are not loaded when you first visit our booking page. A connection to Smoobu is established only when you click “Load calendar”. At that point, at least your IP address is transmitted to Smoobu. Smoobu may process further technical data and use technologies on your device. Further information is available in Smoobu’s privacy policy.
If you make a booking through a calendar, we process the contact, travel and booking details you provide in order to manage your booking and provide your stay. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where billing records are subject to statutory retention obligations, we process them under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. Smoobu processes the data required for the booking function as a service provider acting on our behalf.
Payments Through Stripe
We use Stripe Payments Europe Limited, Dublin, Ireland, for online payments made during the Smoobu booking process. If you choose to pay through Stripe, the booking and payment information required to process your payment is transmitted to Stripe. Depending on the payment method selected, this includes, in particular, the payment amount, contact details and the payment information you enter. Processing for the purpose of completing the booking and payment is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Further information is available in Stripe’s privacy policy.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies or similar technologies may be used for functions that are technically necessary to operate our website. We obtain your prior consent before storing information on, or accessing information from, your device where this is not strictly necessary. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.
6. Recipients and Retention Periods
Within Gutsverwaltung Sievershagen, access to personal data is limited to those who need it to handle enquiries and bookings. Where necessary, we use hosting, IT and booking service providers. Data may also be disclosed to tax advisers or public authorities where required for accounting purposes or to comply with legal obligations.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose. We then delete it unless statutory retention obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims require further retention.
7. Your Rights
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have the right to access your personal data, have inaccurate data corrected, request erasure or restriction of processing, and receive your data in a portable format. You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future.
Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests, you may object to that processing on grounds relating to your particular situation. Please send any request to the email address given above.
